Sofia and Teo return home with Alex and Naomi.

We followed Alex and Naomi’s car through Savannah’s historic district, a route familiar to me. When we pulled into their driveway, Teo whistled low.

“Nice place.”

“Yeah,” I said. “Wait until you see the inside.”

Alex opened the door and gestured us in with his Southern hospitality. “Come on, let me show you around.”

The tour started downstairs—the kitchen where Naomi had cooked for me and Alex had jerked off for me, before I had denied him his release.

Alex led Teo to our office on the second floor. “This is where Sofia and I have been working on Rosa’s asylum case and the restaurant’s zoning issues.”

Teo’s eyes widened as he took in the floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, the massive desk with dual monitors, the organized chaos of legal documents. “Damn.”

“Sofia’s been indispensable,” Alex continued. “She’s got a mind for this work. Found case law I’d missed, spotted inconsistencies in the city’s documentation. She’s going to make one hell of a lawyer.”

Teo looked at me with something like pride. “Yeah, I’m sure she will.”
